CUBAN REFUGEESSome are opposed to the government. All of them resent living with significant limitations. They come from different parts of Cuba and they all started their trip in Guyana. None of them are afraid to dying on the way to the US.

GENESHFrustrated by natural disasters and lack of education in his village in Nepal, he crossed the world hoping to get an education. He walked for thousands of miles in Nepal and India, and later from Quito to Colombia’s border with Panama. Crossing Darien, however, prove to be a bigger challenge.
Frustrado por los desastres naturales y falta de educación en su aldea en Nepal, cruzó el mundo con la esperanza de obtener una educación. Caminó miles de kilómetros en Nepal y la India, y luego desde Quito a la frontera de Colombia con Panamá. El cruce del Darién, sin embargo, resultó ser el mayor desafío.

But his job as a mechanic in the Dominican Republic did not earn him enough to cover basic needs, much less to pay for a plane ticket. His only option was a small boat to Colombia, and then face the dangers of crossing Darien’s thick jungle.
Quería unirse a su familia en los Estados Unidos buscando un mejor future. Pero su trabajo como mecánico en la República Dominicana no le permitía ganar ni siquiera lo suficiente para cubrir las necesidades básicas, mucho menos para pagar un boleto de avión. Su única opción era un pequeño bote a Colombia, y de alli enfrentar el peligroso cruce de la espesa selva del Darién.
